Capybaras are all about the easy life. You’ll usually find Frankie and her friends rolling around in the mud, munching on snacks, or chilling out together in a well-deserved nap. Their easygoing nature makes them perfect for meet-and-greets, where guests can learn more about the world’s largest rodents!

Part of what makes a Capybara Encounter so fun is their friendly, inquisitive nature, which makes them extremely lovable creatures. Frankie loves meeting new friends, especially when they bring her her favorite snacks. Many guests are surprised by just how chatty Frankie and her friends can be as they become a temporary part of the group.

What does Frankie eat?

Capybaras herbivores, meaning they stick to a plant-only diet, consuming 6-8 pounds of vegetation each day! Specifically, our Frankie is especially fond of palm fronds, but she also eats plenty of corn, kale, and other veggies.

How big do capybaras get?

As the world’s largest rodents, people are often surprised by how large capybaras can get! They usually reach the approximate size of a medium dog, or more precisely, about 3.5 to 4.4 feet in length and 77 to 146 pounds.

What does Frankie do during the day?

Frankie’s daily routine is all about soaking up the good life. You’ll often find her swimming laps in her pool, basking in the Florida sunshine or curiously checking out new faces. She loves staying cool, staying social and keeping things capy-tivating. 

Can I see Frankie when I visit Wild Florida?

Absolutely! Frankie and her friends are a favorite among Wild Florida visitors; you can either simply observe them hanging out in their enclosure or book a special Capybara Encounter where you’ll get to meet Frankie and the other capys up close for yourself!

What happens if the animal I adopted passes away?

The adoption fee is non-refundable; however, the proceeds are still used for the conservation efforts for that animals.

Is it possible to adopt more than one animal?

Yes! You are allowed to adopt up to nine animals.

How long will it take for my package to arrive?

Delivery typically takes 3-5 weeks. If your package is lost in transit, you will need to reach out to UPS.
